Apple Pie Bars

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Butter, softened
  • 1-1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 3 Cups Flour
  • 1-1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 (21 oz) Can Apple Pie Filling
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/2 Cup Powder Sugar
  • 1-1/2 Tablespoon Milk 

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. 
  • Grease the bottom of a 9×13 baking pan with oil or non-stick spray.
  • Cream the butter, sugar, and vanilla in a large bowl. 
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing them in one at a time.
  • Sift the flour and baking powder into the butter/sugar mixture. Mix until the flour is completely incorporated.
  • Pour 2/3 of the batter into the bottom of the prepared 9×13 baking dish, making sure it is spread evenly in the pan.
  •  Pour the apple pie filling over the batter, and sprinkle with cinnamon. 
  • Dot the top of the apples with the remaining batter. 
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until the top and the edges are golden and the cake is cooked through.
  • While baking the cake, make the powdered sugar glaze by mixing the powdered sugar and milk. 
  • Right before serving, drizzle with the powdered sugar glaze. Serve warm with a little vanilla ice cream.
